Local Readers (GROWN-UPS 21+) - Join us for a FREE Silent Book Club Experience! Once a month we will keep our Reading Lounges open from 4-5 pm for an additional private hour of reading time so 12 LUCKY READERS can enjoy some quiet self-care, on us! Choose to read in any of our upstairs or downstairs reading nooks (first come, first served) and enjoy a complimentary beverage of your choice (boozy or non-alcoholic options available)...
There will be an *optional* 30 minute soirée and shopping party after each event from 5-5:30 pm so that readers can have the opportunity mix and mingle with other local Chicago / Chicagoland book lovers to talk about what they're reading and/or GET 10% OFF STORE-WIDE if they choose to shop our curated selection of books and reading pairings afterwards!

Local Chicago theater lovers can enjoy a seductive musical performance inspired by the iconic New York Times best seller and opt meet up at intermission to discuss the show and book (in addition to an additional *optional* discussion before the show at 1 pm or after the show from 3:40-4 pm or later too)...

Local Chicago music lovers will join us in our New Book Joy Booktique and upstairs Vinyl & Vibes Reading Lounge to talk about the best books, memoirs & autobiographies written by (or about) musicians (& share their favorite bands too). You'll get to hear some new book recommendations while enjoying rockin' sips n snacks (a Champagne & KFC Tasting inspired by Dave Grohl's book The Storyteller), listening to vinyl on our record player & viewing some incredible artwork made from upcycled vinyl records (yes, it will be for sale!)... Stick around to shop & GET EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNTS!

SATURDAY, AUGUST 10TH / 5:30-10 PM / CSO CLASSICAL MOZART CONCERT, PICNIC + BOOK CHAT @ RAVINIA IN HIGHLAND PARK
Local Chicago music lovers can enjoy an all-Mozart program performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra with conductor James Conlon and internationally renowned musician James Ehnes ("a violinist in a class of his own" - The Times), and opt to meet up before, during and/or after the concert for a picnic to discuss the performance and book (with complimentary light sips and snacks, of course).

Listen as two authors "geek out" over what they loved, learned, and couldn't stand about the classic novel Lonesome Dove, while enjoying refreshments at one of our favorite local breweries. Participate in the book club discussion, ask questions and chime in about your own obsessions or newly-found observations, then pop by our bookish pop-up to shop books, reading pairings and more!
